Charlton boss Lee Bowyer looks set to hand summer signings Sam Field and Macauley Bonne their debuts on Tuesday as the Addicks take on Forest Green Rovers in the Carabao Cup at The Valley.
Saturday’s hero, Chuks Aneke, who came off the bench to put Charlton 2-1 up against Stoke, is also set to play.
Field signed on loan from West Bromwich Albion on deadline day, while Bonne was Bowyer’s first signing of the summer, joining the club from Leyton Orient.
Speaking after Saturday’s impressive 3-1 victory, Bowyer said: “Sam Field will play and Jake Forster-Caskey. They are two lads that need to get minutes into them.
“I spoke to the fitness fella at West Brom and he was saying Sam hadn’t played many minutes in pre-season. So he’s a little bit behind. I don’t want to just chuck him in the deep end because you are always getting judged. I want to try and get him some minutes. He’s a quiet lad, so I need to break him in really with the group.
“He’ll play, Macauley Bonne will play, Chuks (Aneke) will play. There are going to be a lot of changes.”
