Take an in depth look ahead to our Carabao Cup first-round clash against Forest Green Rovers...
Forest Green Rovers present themselves as Charlton's first obstacle in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night as the League Two outfit make the trip to the capital.
The cup tie provides Lee Bowyer's men with the opportunity to build on their excellent start to the season following back-to-back wins against Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
Meanwhile, Rovers, who narrowly missed out on gaining promotion through the League Two play-offs last season, will be looking to maintain their own unbeaten start to this season having recorded a 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic, before recording a draw with Walsall last Saturday.
Bowyer is set to rest players ahead of Charlton's trip to Barnsley as the Addicks go looking for their third straight win in the Championship.
Lewis Page remains out of contention through injury, while new signing Beram Kayal will have to wait for his debut.
However, Macauley Bonne is set to make his first start, while Sam Field could well make his Charlton debut at The Valley. Chuks Aneke may also make his first start after his goalscoring debut off the bench at the weekend, while some of the club's academy graduates, including Brendan Wiredu, are set for a run-out.
Forest Green may look to give forward Matty Stevens his first start since he joined the green from Peterborough United in July. Stevens has been a substitute player for both of Forest Greens' league outings so far.
But they will be without George Williams as he recovers from a broken leg, while Liam Shephard is also out of action having undergone knee surgery over the summer.
Defender Farrend Rawson will also not be travelling with Rovers having suffered a concussion at the weekend.
Charlton boss, Lee Bowyer: "I spoke to the fitness Coach at West Brom and he was saying Sam [Field] hadn’t played many minutes in pre-season. So he’s a little bit behind. I don’t want to just chuck him in the deep end because you are always getting judged. I want to try and get him some minutes. He’s a quiet lad, so I need to break him in with the group.
“He’ll play, Macauley Bonne will play, Chuks [Aneke] will play. There are going to be a lot of changes.”
Forest Green boss, Mark Cooper: “It is great for us to be going to The Valley and playing such a good club like Charlton, they had a great season last year and the manager has done fantastically well.
"Two wins they have started with, so it is going to be a tough game. We go there with nothing to lose, it’s a free shot for us."
Tonight will be the first time that Charlton have met Forest Green in any competition!
John Busby is the man with the whistle for tonight's clash. Busby refereed 44 matches last season, giving out 99 yellows and six red cards. Busby was in charge of the match when Charlton recorded a dramatic win over Accrington Stanley at The Valley last season. The match saw Lyle Taylor and Stanley's Jonny Maxted sent off while Karlan Grant converted a 93rd-minute penalty.
He will be joined by Paul Kelly and Stephen Finch with Bhupinder Gill being the Fourth Official.
Supporters can follow all the build-up to the game on Charlton's official Instagram account, official Twitter account and Facebook page.
