Here is everything you need to know going into a weekend of international fixtures featuring the Addicks…
Beram Kayal and Tomer Hemed were the first of the club’s internationals to take to the field as Israel were held to a 1-1 draw with North Macedonia on Thursday night.
The duo made substitute appearances for the Blue and Whites with Kayal replacing Omri Ben Harush on 60 minutes, while Hemed featured for the final quarter of an hour when he replaced Sevilla’s Moanes Dabour but the pair were unable to help Israel edge Macedonia who had cancelled out Eran Zahavi’s opener through Arijan Ademi.
The result leaves them second in their group for EURO 2020 qualification after five games, four points off the top spot occupied by Poland.
Elsewhere, Josh Cullen was on the bench for the Republic of Ireland but did not make it on to the pitch for the duration as the Republic of Ireland snatched a late point in their 1-1 draw against Switzerland thanks to a goal from Sheffield United’s David McGoldrick.
The result means they are still top of their group, but a win for Denmark on Sunday against Georgia would see them leapfrog the boys in green on goal difference.
In U20s action were Jonathan Leko and Conor Gallagher who both started in England’s 0-0 draw against the Netherlands in the U20 UEFA Elite League. Gallagher played the full 90 while Leko was brought off after 66 minutes. They will both join the Young Lions to Basel where they will prepare for their second game on Monday.
Three other Addicks could be in international action over the coming days and supporters can use the summary below to see who they can look out for.
Tom Lockyer and Jonny Williams – Wales
Fixtures: 06/09/2019, Azerbaijan (h) (UEFA EURO Qualification) – Sky Sports Premier League (Coverage from 7.30pm) || 09/09/2019, Belarus (h) (Friendly)
Charlton’s Welsh contingent are in action against Azerbaijan on Friday evening as they search for a way back into the EURO qualification mix having lost two of their three games so far. Bottom placed Azerbaijan are their opponents and the duo will be hoping they can overcome the lowly side.
They will then take on Belarus on Monday night in a friendly to cap off their international break.
Lyle Taylor – Montserrat
Fixtures: 07/09/2019, Dominican Republic (h) (CONCACAF Nations League) || 10/09/2019, Saint Lucia (h) (CONCACAF Nations League)
Lyle Taylor and Montserrat will kick off their CONCACAF Nations League campaign when they take on the Dominican Republic on Saturday night and the Addicks top scorer will be hoping to fire the Emerald Boys to a winning start in the tournament.
Montserrat will be hoping to push on from their painfully narrow miss on a CONCACAF Gold Cup berth through goal difference.
They then continue their tournament when they face Saint Lucia on Tuesday night.
