Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Josh Davison on a deal until the end of the season.
Davison’s signature follows a successful trial period in which the 20-year old scored five goals for the Addicks U23s.
The centre-forward came up through the Peterborough academy before enjoying a spell at Enfield Town in the Isthmian League Premier Division last season.
A strong physical presence with an eye for goal, Davison brings a unique skillset to the Addicks youth ranks.
Speaking on the new addition, Academy Manager Steve Avory said:
“He’s a centre-forward and by that I mean someone who plays right through the middle. He gives us something different to what we felt we had with our strikers. He shows up for the ball well, he holds up the ball well, he’ll get himself into goal scoring positions and he’s certainly proved that in the league games so far.”
In addition to his goals Davison has earned plaudits around the Charlton academy for his tireless work-rate; “The one thing that impresses you with Josh straight away when you watch him train is his absolute 100% work ethic each and every day. He’s very very keen to succeed and you can see the desire in the way he trains.” Avory continued.
