Charlton and Millwall supporters will walk 10 miles ahead of Saturday’s game to fundraise and commemorate Rob Knox and Jimmy Mizen who were murdered in 2009.
The Together For Ten walk will begin in Sidcup, where Rob was murdered, before going through Lee, where Jimmy was murdered, before finishing at The Den via Deptford. The walk is in memory of Lee and Jimmy and as a show of solidarity against street violence.
The walk is a supporter-led initiative, but supporters are fundraising for the Charlton Athletic Community Trust and ‘For Jimmy’ which was set up by Barry and Margaret Mizen.
CACT works closely with Sally, Colin and Jamie Knox [pictured], with Sally taking part in the ‘Street Violence Ruins Lives’ steering group alongside CACT staff, Clive Efford MP and representatives from the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley.
The CACT has also previously worked with Barry and Margaret.
The CACT’s annual Street Violence Ruins Lives themed matchday will take place in the reverse fixture at The Valley on April 4th, while in January 2019, CACT launched its Street Violence Ruins Lives strategy following new funding from the Mayor of London and local authorities.
