The #PrideOfTheValley campaign launched last season to reward the most dedicated Charlton fans. Each home league game, a fan is selected to win the award and the individual is presented with a signed shirt.
Today Jasdeep Dale, who comes to Charlton games with his uncle Khush, has been selected. We asked Jasdeep for some of his Charlton memories…
Why I became a Charlton fan: my uncle took me to my first game and I have been a fan ever since.
My first game at The Valley was: I don’t remember year but was against Plymouth Argyle. All I know is that it didn’t stop raining, and my uncle treated us to hospitality!
On 25th May 1998 I was: I am too young to remember that game!
On 26th May 2019 I was: at Wembley behind the goal where Bauer won it for us!
My favourite Charlton game was: The play-off semi-final against Doncaster! The penalties were unforgettable, especially the crowd storming on to the pitch. It was amazing scenes and really showed the passion of our supporters.
My favourite Charlton player is: A hard one but, I’d say Lyle Taylor, his performances last season and hunger for goals and being a team player makes him stand out.
The best part of being a Charlton fan is: Charlton are great in accommodating me in the disabled section. The staff are excellent. Also I currently love the never give up attitude the players have under Lee Bowyer.
The Charlton player of the season will be: Conor Gallagher, he has been amazing and scored some crucial goals and helped out the strikers. Especially with Taylor’s injury.
The game most looking forward to is: We need to get revenge on Millwall at The Valley this season!
