“Every game is as important as the other,” said the in form Charlton goalkeeper Dillon Phillips, “especially the games against the teams down there with us so onto Wednesday and then Saturday [against Huddersfield Town]."
The shot-stopper, who has made more saves in the Championship than another other goalkeeper, is optimistic about their next two games: ”Away from home we’ve been decent, especially the last one against [Nottingham] Forest.
“If we can put in a performance like that again, there’s no reason why we can’t take all three points against Sheffield Wednesday who haven’t been on a great run of form.
“Then attention goes to Saturday against Huddersfield, another team that are down there with us, both are just as important and we’re going into every game to win it.”
Saturday’s win against Luton was crucial in their hopes for survival but the result didn’t exactly come easy against the side who beat promotion-chasers Brentford on Tuesday.
“Luton are better than the league table suggests, they are a decent side with quality and we’ve kept them to the one goal. We’ve done our bit down the other end so it was a great win.”
After promotion last season, Charlton will be hoping to cement their place in the Championship so they can build on it and the fans definitely played their part.
“They are excellent every week to be fair, we all just keep repeating ourselves. They’ve been brilliant for us, home and away,” said Phillips.
“The atmosphere on Saturday was great again, I didn't notice there were less than last week, it sounded just as loud so that definitely pulled us through.”
