To get you ready for the action we are continuing with our Three Of The Best series as we take a look back over three games from the 2011/12 season where the Addicks won the League One title with a record points tally.
August 6th, 2011 - Charlton 3 Bournemouth 0
Charlton kicked off the season by laying down a marker for the rest of the season with a convincing 3-0 win over Bournemouth at The Valley.
Dale Stephens opened the scoring for the hosts when he was able to get his shot away inside the area, which cut low and beyond the reach of Darryl Flahavan.
Scott Wagstaff then doubled the Addicks' lead after the break in fine fashion when he was fed on the edge of the area and was able to hit a cushioned volley into the back of the net.
The Cherries were struggling and Charlton made the most of this by going at them again. Bradley Wright-Phillips' surging run into the box was only ended when he was fouled by Adam Barrett, leaving the referee with no choice but to point to the spot.
The new captain Johnnie Jackson stepped up and was able to cap off the professional scoreline with a placed finish beyond Flahavan.
November 11th, 2011 - Charlton 5 Preston North End 2
The Addicks tore Preston apart at The Valley as their hunt for the title was well underway.
Johnnie Jackson opened the scoring against the Lilywhites when he was able to mop up Danny Green's parried effort with an improvised finish.
Defender Michael Morrison was then able to open his scoring account for the Addicks when he pounced on the chaos inside the area following a corner and was able to turn and get his shot away and double Charlton's lead.
The Addicks were rampant and it was 3-0 within the first half hour after Charlton were awarded a spot kick when Andreas Arestidou upended the advancing Yann Kermorgant. Jackson stepped up and smashed home his second and the hosts' third of the afternoon.
And the game was put beyond doubt before the interval when Bradley Wright-Phillips made the most of some woeful defending to head home from an inswinging corner.
And after the break, the Addicks refused to let their foot off the gas, Danny Hollands powering home a superb diving header from Rhoys Wiggins' inch perfect cross.
The Addicks 5-0 lead meant that Craig Morgan and Keammar Daley's goals late on were merely a consolation for the away side.
May 5th, 2012 - Charlton 3 Hartlepool 2
Charlton capped off their title winning season with a final day victory over Hartlepool to finish with a record 101 points.
But it was the visitors who went ahead as they looked to dampen Charlton's celebrations, Peter Hartley getting on the end of a corner to beat Ben Hamer.
With 20 minutes to go Charlton really get the party going again, Danny Hollands latching onto the end of a well weighted cross and smashing home from inside the area on the volley.
Danny Haynes then completed the turn around when he was able to power home a bullet header in front of a jubilant Covered End.
Yann Kermorgant then sprinkled some pure footballing magic on the occasion when, from a seemingly impossible angle, he was able to volley home over the reach of Scott Flinders.
Hartlepool did have one final attempt at raining on the Addicks' parade when Gary Liddle's deflected effort looped over Ben Hamer but Charlton held on to secure all three points and bring the curtain down on a remarkable season.
