Charlton legend Chris Powell has paid tribute to Seb Lewis after the superfan sadly passed away on Wednesday afternoon.
The former Addicks player and manager contacted cafc.co.uk to share his words about Seb, which can be found below...
I’m devastated to hear the news of Seb’s passing. I have always remarked over the years that in all my time as a player and a manager, I got to know virtually every Charlton supporter. But if there was one person I really did know, it was Seb.
I remember looking out for his flag and looking out for him at away games knowing he would be there. He was a man who loved Charlton and loved everything about the club. Regardless of what was happening on or off the field, that was his love.
When we all eventually go back to watch Charlton, I think there will be a moment in everyone’s mind about him not being there.
I class him as being the number one fan. Seb was someone who, from 1998, the same year I joined the club, started his run of over 1,000 games and that just shows that Charlton have lost quite a remarkable person.
He’s the first person that I know that we’ve lost during this horrible time. So, it’s a big, big loss to us all and my sympathies are with his family.
He will still be at every Charlton game in my eyes. Charlton will always be his family and his spirit will live on.
