Supporters can now pre-order a very special ‘behind-closed-doors’ edition of Valley Review, with the cover paying tribute to Addicks superfan Seb Lewis.
The bumper 96-page edition covers all four of Charlton’s remaining home games against Queens Park Rangers, Millwall, Reading and Wigan Athletic which are to be played behind closed doors due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
Although fans will not be able to attend the games in person, they can settle down to watch the games from home with their matchday programme which will be delivered directly to their door and include all the usual features and information on all four of the visiting teams.
There is also a very special tribute to cover star Seb, who sadly lost his fight against coronavirus at the age of just 38 in March. The programme pays tribute to the much-loved fan who famously reached 1,076 consecutive games supporting his beloved team and there are words from Lee Bowyer, Chris Powell and his father, Lionel Lewis.
Also in the bumper magazine, supporters can find interviews with Jonny Williams and Josh Cullen about their time in lockdown and preparing for the restart, while Bowyer will pen his first managers’ notes since play was halted in March as he reflects on an unprecedented few months.
Meanwhile, Ben Hayes of the Charlton Museum delves deep into the Addicks’ ‘lost season’ in 1914/15 when play was stopped due to the First World War and the last ‘Talk Us Through It’ of the campaign sees Patrick Bauer discuss his iconic goal at Wembley last May.
All that and much, much more can be found in the 96-page ‘behind-closed-doors’ Valley Review which is sure to be a collectors’ item from a historic time.
The programme can be purchased for £5 (plus a £1.50 booking fee which covers postage and packaging) from the club’s ticketing website by clicking here (please note: if you do not have an account on the ticketing site, you will need to set one up in order to purchase the programme). Supporters with 'CAFC Cash' credited to their account can put it towards the programme.
Programmes will be sent directly to your door once they go to print next week with delivery expected before the Queens Park Rangers fixture as long as you order before 5pm on Monday, June 22nd.
If supporters would prefer to purchase via cheque, they can send a cheque for £7.50 (cost includes £2.50 admin and postage and packaging fee) to 'Communications Team, Charlton Athletic Football Club, The Valley, Floyd Road, SE7 8BL' with their name and delivery address and their programme will be posted to them as soon as possible.
