Ben Amos has taken up the option of a one-year extension to his contract, keeping him at the club until at least the summer of 2021.
The goalkeeper first arrived in SE7 on loan for the 2017/18 season and enjoyed an exceptional year in which he was ever-present for the Addicks in the league.
He returned on a permanent deal during the summer of 2019 and will now be staying to provide important competition for Dillon Phillips between the sticks at The Valley.
“This will be my third season at the club and I’m very happy to be part of what will hopefully be a positive future," said Amos.
"We’ve come through a lot as a group and there’s not many groups of players that could have done that, so that’s testament to what we have here at the club.
"Competition is great for everyone," he continued
"I was obviously disappointed to not get games last year, but Dillon [Phillips] has done really well and I’ll look to improve every day as I always do."
Lee Bowyer added: “Ben has a lot of experience, especially in this division. We have two very good goalies in him and Dillon fighting it out. He’s been good around the place and excellent with the younger lads, so I’m delighted that he’s staying on."
Director of Football Steve Gallen said: "I'm delighted Ben has decided to stay on, he's a good goalkeeper. Unfortunately he didn't play much last season but he was superb in training and around the changing room every day. We all know how good he is from when he played for us in League One in 2017/18. We're very pleased he'll be with us next season."
