Darren Pratley will captain the Addicks in Saturday’s Carabao Cup tie against Swindon Town.
Lee Bowyer has made five changes to the lineup that played AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday and there is a place on the bench for summer signing Alex Gilbey.
Chuks Aneke also returns to the bench following a short spell on the sidelines while Jonny Williams and Conor Washington are away on international duty and Jason Pearce remains on the sidelines.
17-year-old Charlie Barker, who impressed on his debut on Tuesday, retains his place in the starting lineup and is likely to play in the same back four alongside George Lapslie, Deji Oshilaja and Ben Purrington.
Ben Amos replaces Ashley Maynard-Brewer in the Charlton goal, with the Addicks potentially set to line-up in a 4-3-3 formation.
If Bowyer does opt for that shape Darren Pratley would likely anchor the midfield alongside Jake Forster-Caskey and James Vennings behind a front three of Alfie Doughty, Macauley Bonne and Tuesday’s goalscorer Erhun Oztumer.
Maynard-Brewer, Aneke and Gilbey are joined on the bench by Albie Morgan, Josh Davison, Ben Dempsey and Aaron Henry.
