Jason Pearce will make his first Charlton appearance of the season this evening, after missing the opening months of the campaign with a knee injury.
The Charlton skipper is joined in the starting lineup, for the Papa John’s Trophy game against Leyton Orient, by debutants Kasim Aidoo, Hady Ghandour and Wassim Aouachria.
Marcus Maddison also starts for the second successive game, after making his full Addicks’ debut on Saturday.
Pearce, Maddison and Adam Matthews are the only three players in the whole Charlton squad not to have come through the club’s esteemed academy.
If Lee Bowyer opts to play a 4-3-3 formation, it would mean Matthews, Charlie Barker, Pearce and Aidoo starting in front of Ashley Maynard-Brewer in the Charlton goal.
In that formation Aaron Henry, Albie Morgan and James Vennings would make up the midfield with Ghandour and Maddison flanking Aouachria up front.
Joe Osaghae, Jay Mingi, Johl Powell, Brendan Wiredu and Dylan Gavin make up the substitutes bench.
Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; Matthews, Barker, Pearce (C), Aidoo; Morgan, Henry, Vennings; Maddison, Aouachria, Ghandour
Substitutes: Osaghae, Mingi, Powell, Wiredu, Gavin
