Charlton’s U18s bounced back from their Youth Cup disappointment with an emphatic victory over Nottingham Forest at Sparrows Lane on Saturday.
Second-half goals from Kai Garande (pictured) and Miles Leaburn were topped off by strikes from Mack Reilly and Jeremy Santos in injury time to see the young Addicks earn all three points with a hugely-impressive 21 goals scored in their last five league games.
Garande was first to find the net seven minutes into the second half, putting away a clever free-kick routine as Santos feigned to shoot, before the full-back instead tucked his shot away into the bottom left-hand corner.
Leaburn made it 2-0 nine minutes later, holding his run perfectly to get into the box and slot home between the legs of the keeper.
With the victory all but sewn up, substitute Reilly added a third in the first minute of injury time, latching on to a through ball to finish confidently into the bottom corner one-on-one.
And Santos added the cherry on top from the penalty spot in the 95th minute after the goalkeeper had committed a foul in the box. He stepped up to dispatch his spot-kick into the top left corner to round up a successful afternoon for his side who sit second in Professional Development League 2 - South, moving to within two points of Ipswich Town who top the table.
