Nigel Adkins has made one alteration for his side’s clash against Ipswich Town at The Valley today.
Charlton were victorious on Wearside against Sunderland last weekend courtesy of Josh Scowen’s own goal and a second half strike from Alex Gilbey and Adkins makes one change to his starting 11 with Liam Millar replacing the injured Ian Maatsen.
If the Addicks line up in the same 4-3-3 formation used at the Stadium of Light then Adam Matthews, Ryan Inniss, captain Jason Pearce on his 550th career appearance and Ben Purrington will sit in front of Ben Amos. Gilbey, Darren Pratley and Jake Forster-Caskey form Adkins’ three-man midfield, with Diallang Jaiyesimi and Millar playing either side of lone striker Jayden Stockley.
Akin Famewo returns to the Addicks bench and is joined by Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Chris Gunter, Deji Oshilaja, Andrew Shinnie, Ben Watson and Ronnie Schwartz.
