Charlton Athletic are delighted to confirm that Jonathan Leko has returned to the club.
The 22-year-old has signed on a season-long loan from Birmingham City.
The forward enjoyed a successful loan spell at The Valley in the Championship in 2019/20, becoming a fan favourite, scoring five goals and recording four assists in 21 appearances.
Leko explained he was delighted to return to Charlton. He said: "I'm looking forward to hitting the ground running, meeting the lads, there is a few new players from last time I was here and there are a few that were here before too. I can't wait to get back to The Valley and get back playing, doing well and meeting all the fans - I just can't wait."
He becomes the third signing of a busy deadline day and Manager Nigel Adkins said: "I'm looking forward to working with Jonathan who is an exciting, young player, so I'm pleased to welcome him back to the club."
Owner Thomas Sandgaard said: “Jonathan is an exciting player who creates and scores goals. I know he did well at Charlton last time he was here, so I’m really pleased we’ve been able to bring him back.”
Leko came through the youth system at West Bromwich Albion, playing 23 games for them and had a loan spell at Bristol City before joining the Addicks on loan on deadline day in 2019. After impressing at Charlton, he signed a permanent deal at Birmingham in the summer of 2020.
The Addicks take on Cheltenham Town on Saturday, September 11th. Click here to purchase your ticket.
