Charlton Athletic Women Manager Karen Hills has previewed Sunday’s FA Women’s Championship home game against Bristol City (2pm).
“We’re looking forward to it, it’s a home game so it’s another opportunity to show our fans what we’re all about and what we’re capable of. This week has given us an opportunity to have the girls in to train, especially as we have come back off a three-game week.”
The Addicks have another busy, three-game week ahead starting with Sunday’s league clash against Bristol.
“The focus is on Bristol, the first game of the week. We will take all of that prep into the game and then rest and recover and look forward to the other games but it’s all about this weekend and playing Bristol.”
Charlton have won both of their home games this season and Hills wants the Addicks to continue that perfect run at home.
“It would always be nice, but we know Bristol are going to be a tough team. They’re young, they’re being really well coached and they’ve started really well. We know that they’ve got some threats in their team. We’re confident in our own ability and operation but at the same time we’ve got to be mindful of their threats.
Hills explains that confidence is high in the Addicks camp following the emphatic 4-0 win against Watford at Vicarage Road last weekend.
“Elise scoring a hat-trick, that has given her a lot of confidence and rightly so. I thought the way that we played the game at Watford was exceptional and we really did put in a fantastic performance. Now we’ve just got to re-visit that and stick to our principles of what we’re trying to do week-in, week-out, have our own identity and hopefully the result will take care of itself.”
