Sam Lavelle has undergone surgery on a groin injury sustained during Saturday’s victory at Sunderland.
The defender will face a spell on the sidelines as he begins his rehabilitation to make a return to fitness as soon as possible.
Speaking in his weekly press conference ahead of Saturday's visit of Doncaster Rovers, Caretaker Manager Johnnie Jackson said: “Sam came off with a bad injury and he’s had surgery on it today [Thursday]. He will be out long-term, I don’t know the exact timescale on that, I don’t want to put too much pressure on it, but he’ll be unavailable for the foreseeable.”
