Charlton Athletic Women fell to a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at Hayes Lane on Sunday.
A brace from Millie Farrow and one from Kirsty Barton either side of Hollie Olding and Jess King consolation goals condemned the Addicks to a third loss in four FA Women’s Championship matches.
Eartha Cumings was forced into a smart early save down low at the near post, while Hannah Godfrey saw a header from a Lois Roche corner cleared off the line.
But it was the hosts who struck first 10 minutes in, when Wilson, who got to the ball before Anna Filbey, was initially thwarted well by Cumings but the ball broke for Farrow to slot home.
Charlton tried to galvanise themselves and get back into the clash, but all they could muster before the half an hour mark was a brace of Ella Rutherford long-range strikes that landed over the crossbar.
It was Palace again who went closest to getting the second goal of the game when Farrow headed a Wilson cross narrowly wide of the far post.
Another long range chance came and went for Charlton when Roche intercepted a loose defensive pass, but the midfielder could only shoot over.
The home side doubled their advantage a couple of minutes before the interval when Wilson wasn’t picked up on the left and sent a cross in for the unmarked Kirsty Barton to loop a header over Cumings.
The opening exchanges of the second half were fairly equal and it was down to the Addicks’ Sophie Quirk, who almost had an immediate impact after coming on as a sub just before the hour mark.
The winger ran at the Palace defence and squared for fellow replacement Hollie Olding, but keeper Emily Orman parried away what was her first save of the contest.
And it was Quirk once more who provided a way back into the encounter for her side when she cushioned a header back for Olding to poke home.
Palace attempted to restore their two-goal advantage straight away but Bianca Baptiste could only shoot over.
That lead was doubled once more when Farrow nicked the ball with the whole of the Charlton defence around her but slammed home from a tight angle.
Baptiste had another good chance when muscling Olding but Cumings saved.
King ensured it was a nervy stoppage time, heading home an Emma Follis cross and Beth Roe shot wide with Charlton in the ascendency but it wasn’t to be.
