Miles Leaburn was at the double as Charlton’s U18s put five past Millwall at Sparrows Lane to earn a ninth straight league win on Saturday.
The striker opened the scoring after 17 minutes when he latched onto a long ball forward which was misjudged by a Lions defender. With plenty of work still to do, he cut onto his left foot before placing a shot into the bottom right-hand corner from the edge of the box.
Millwall were level on 34 minutes thanks to a penalty, but the dominant hosts regained their advantage on the stroke of half-time with Leaburn again getting on the scoresheet.
A quick free-kick resulted in Toby Bower delivering a trademark inch-perfect cross for Leaburn to head towards goal and see the ball squeeze through the legs of the ‘keeper.
Jason Adigun added a third 17 minutes into the second half and it came in some style. Receiving a hooked pass from Leaburn, the skipper saw the keeper off his line and hit brilliant shot on the half-volley from 25 yards which nestled in the back of the net.
Tyreece Campbell bagged the fourth 10 minutes from time, plundering a first-time volley from 12 yards when a cross was headed clear into his path, before substitute Daniel Kanu rounded off the scoring three minutes later.
The prolific striker drifted past a defender in the box having picked up Sahid Kamara’s raking cross-field pass, before dispatching a firm angled shot into the bottom left-hand corner.
