Charlton make the most southerly and westerly trip in the Sky Bet League One calendar on Saturday afternoon (3pm) when they take on Plymouth Argyle at Home Park in what will be Johnnie Jackson's first official game in charge as manager.
The Addicks travel to Devon on the back-to-back home triumphs against Ipswich Town and Cambridge United in the third tier to extend Johnnie Jackson’s side’s unbeaten run to four games in all competitions.
TEAM NEWS
Speaking in his weekly press conference, Jackson revealed no fresh injury concerns, though Adam Matthews (calf), Sam Lavelle (groin), Ryan Inniss (quad), Jake Forster-Caskey (ACL) and Corey Blackett-Taylor (hamstring) remain absent.
James Bolton (ankle) could be set to return, but long-term absentee Brendan Galloway (knee) is unavailable.
THE OPPOSITION
Plenty has changed for Plymouth since the Addicks condemned the then league leaders to a first Sky Bet League One defeat in 17 at The Valley last month. Form has slowed, Ryan Lowe has departed for Preston North End and Steven Schumacher - formerly Lowe’s assistant - is now at the helm having penned a three-and-a-half year deal.
The inaugural game of the Schumacher era yielded a point at MK Dons, followed by a 2-1 reverse at Sunderland last weekend.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Charlton and Plymouth have squared off on 73 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 31, the Pilgrims 27 and the remaining 15 encounters resulting in draws.
The Addicks ran out 2-0 victors at The Valley in the reverse fixture last month, with Ben Purrington and Conor Washington both on the scoresheet.
Charlton’s last trip to Home Park, meanwhile, saw the Addicks register a club record-equalling away league victory last April, cruising to a 6-0 victory in Devon.
MATCH OFFICIALS
Craig Hicks will control proceedings on Saturday afternoon. The official last refereed a Charlton fixture in August - a 2-0 reverse against Wigan Athletic at The Valley.
Hicks will be assisted by Adam Ricketts and Simon Shaw, while Robert Dabbs is the Fourth Official.
COLOURS
The Addicks will be sporting their home strip at Home Park this weekend.
