Charlton Owner, Thomas Sandgaard, said: “The Covered End plays such an important role in creating the great atmosphere we’ve experienced during the #FillTheValley games.
“We’re really pleased at the initial demand for tickets for our game against Norwich and we also heard from supporters who asked us about opening the Covered End upper.
“Lots of football clubs are having issues at the moment with a shortage of matchday staff, which posed a challenge for us but given the demand, we’ve worked with our matchday safety team and we’re really pleased to be in a position to open the Covered End upper. I’d like to thank our Head of Matchday Operations, Mick Everett, who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to assemble the staff to make this happen.
“With the Covered End fully open, Premier League opposition and a competition with as much history as the FA Cup, including for this club, we’re looking forward to an excellent atmosphere at The Valley on Sunday, January 9th.”
