Charlton Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of forward Katie Robinson on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old signed on deadline day to become the third signing of the January transfer window following the arrivals of Jorja Fox and Natalia Negri.
On joining the Addicks, Robinson signed a new contract with Brighton, after making her full WSL debut for the Seagulls earlier this month.
Charlton currently sit third in the Championship and Manager Karen Hills explained she was pleased to add Robinson to help with the Addicks’ second-half of the season push: “It is a good addition to the team which will strengthen us in the front line, and bring WSL quality and experience to what we already have.
“It is a strong signing at this point in the season, to be able to bring in a WSL forward player to help strengthen our squad is really positive for Charlton Athletic.”
Owner Thomas Sandgaard stated: “We’ve been getting better and better in recent weeks. We are now unbeaten in our last seven games, with six clean sheets in a row.”
“Karen has the team playing really well. Katie is clearly highly rated at Brighton and will come in and hopefully add to our attacking threat.”
Robinson began her career at Bristol City, before joining Brighton in 2020. She made 10 appearances for Brighton this season and last October was called into the England U23 squad, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Belgium in a friendly.
The Addicks travel to Plymouth Argyle for an FA Cup tie on Sunday and are back at The Oakwood in Crayford on February 6th, to take on Watford. Click here to purchase your tickets.
Katie Robinson's first interview as an Addick will be available to watch over the weekend.
