Daniel Kanu and Mack Reilly are relishing Saturday's Professional Development League 2 play-off semi-final against Barnsley at The Valley (2pm).
The dynamic duo spoke ahead of this weekend’s meeting with the Tykes after securing the PDL2-South title with six games remaining, finishing 14 points clear of second-place Colchester United.
The young Addicks hosted Barnsley in the PDL Cup at Sparrows Lane in February, claiming a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Toby Bower and Reilly.
Kanu was named Valley Gold Young Player of the Year having enjoyed a hugely-prolific campaign for the U18s and U23s. The forward penned his first professional deal with the club in January, before earning his first-team debut at Wigan Athletic a month later.
Looking ahead to this weekend's encounter, Kanu said: “I'm really looking forward to it, I always enjoy playing at The Valley. It’s an opportunity to impress and try to win some silverware again this season.
“Training has been really good, everyone is training well. We are enjoying ourselves and learning every day, trying our best to prepare ourselves well for the game to make sure we do our best and get the win."
Reilly, who joined Charlton at U13 level, has also enjoyed a fruitful season. He added: “It’s a game that has been building up for a long time. We earned this opportunity a while back now so the excitement has been building for everyone.
“They're going to be physical and they're going to want to test us physically, but we are ready for that. We know what they can bring, we have played them twice already this season so we will be ready for them.
"Having the fans there is a huge piece of motivation for us; if you make a mistake and the crowd gets behind you, straight away there's a moment where where you want to get back on the right track. We're really looking forward to it."
Commenting on Reilly's qualities, Kanu said: "He's very direct, a very good finisher and he scores goals."
Similarly, Reilly lauded his teammate: “The fans have heard a lot about him this season, he has just won Young Player of the Year and his numbers speak for themselves. He is an out-and-out goalscorer and a great player to be on the pitch with."
