Addicks forward Ella Rutherford reflects on Charlton's impressive 3-0 victory against Birmingham City at The Valley, as well as looking ahead to this Sunday's test in the northeast as Karen Hills' side prepares to take on Sunderland in the Barclays Women's Championship.
Reflecting on the 3-0 victory over Birmingham at The Valley:
"I think it was a great team performance, it was important for us to bounce back after the international break, we set ourselves a few goals and targets, the main one for me was how together we were on the pitch, and you always knew the player next to you is working hard for you."
The forward on her emotions after scoring her first Valley goal:
"It was an unreal feeling, it was positive for me. I came through quite a tough pre-season so I was delighted to bounce back and help the team, so, I was really happy to get on the scoresheet."
Rutherford on being nominated as Championship player of the week:
"It means the world to me, I am really humbled to be a part of that, it is nice that your hard work is recognised, first of many I hope and I just want to kick on now."
Thought's ahead of this Sunday's test against Sunderland:
"We know their strengths and what they are going to try and come out to do, but we have just got to focus on us, just like we do every week, and look to improve and build on last Sunday's performance, that is the main priority for us."
