Tuesday’s game against MK Dons will see the club celebrate our partnership with University of Greenwich.
The club and university have been partnered for more than 10 years and signed a multi-year agreement in the summer to further expand the partnership, which includes working with Charlton Athletic Community Trust.
Writing in his notes in Tuesday’s Valley Review, men’s first-team Manager, Ben Garner, said: “Today we celebrate our partnership with the University of Greenwich and I’d like to welcome 200 or so university representatives – students, staff, guests – to The Valley for this evening’s game. Your support for our football club is greatly appreciated.”
Activity at The Valley includes:
- A pre-match video highlighting the partnership
- University of Greenwich's men's first team captain, James Goodwin, will take on the half-time CrossBEER Challenge, aiming to win the whole crowd a free beer at an upcoming Charlton home game
- A section on CharltonTV, including a pitchside interview on the partnership and an interview with Charlton Women’s player Heidi Logan, who is studying at University of Greenwich
- An interview with the aforementioned Heidi Logan in the matchday programme, Valley Review
- And a special University of Greenwich branding on all pies sold on matchday
Supporters can be in with a chance of winning a signed shirt, courtesy of University of Greenwich, by tweeting a picture of themselves at the game and using the hashtag #ProudToBeGre before full time at Tuesday’s game.
Other activity around the matchday include a special event for university students attending and a reception for university partners.
