Young Greenwich Spring term activities announced

Young Greenwich; the youth services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, have announced the timetable of activities and courses for the spring term.

2017 will see the 6th year that Charlton Athletic Community Trust has delivered youth services in Royal Greenwich. The activities and courses are for young people aged 10-19 (or up to 25 for this with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) who live or study in the borough

It’s four youth hubs are open again on Tuesday 10th January offering young people from the borough a place to meet friends, relax and have fun. The hubs in Charlton, Woolwich, Thamesmead and Eltham boast dance studios, music equipment, sports spaces, games consoles and more to enjoy.

Young Greenwich also offers a range of activities outside of hubs and through its partner organisations.

There are football and sports sessions, dance classes and Arts courses available all over the borough.

This term will see sessions delivered by new partner organisations:

  • My Tribe Dance Academy who will be delivering urban dance sessions in Valley Central youth hub every Monday this term.
  • Metro Charity will be running two youth clubs ‘Zest’ and ‘Shine’ for LGBTQ young people
  • Streetwise Law will be delivering female-only sessions about the law and rights at Plumstead Manor School.

The half term will also see the return of the popular volunteering course at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. This is a must for anyone who wants to get to grips with the local area and explore local heritage sites. There will be plenty of offsite and residential trips announced over the course of the term too.
