Defender Sophie O’Rourke made 18 appearances across all competitions in her second season in SE7.

The pacey full-back joined the Addicks in the summer of 2022 on a one-year deal following her departure from Lewes, and committed to the club for a further two years after signing a new contract ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Since her arrival, O’Rourke has made herself a regular in Karen Hills’ side, representing the Addicks on 40 occasions and providing vital contributions both defensively and going forward.

While her calm and collected nature when asked to defend contributed to Charlton’s miserly defensive record last time out, her ability to race past opposition full-backs and create openings for her teammates has become a vital attacking outlet for the Addicks.

A graduate of Reading’s academy, O’Rourke spent a period playing in Iceland for Grindavík before beginning a four-season spell with Lewes, during which she made over 65 appearances for the Rocks.
