Full-back Charlotte Newsham joined the Addicks in July 2024, signing a one-year contract following her departure from fellow Women’s Championship club Sheffield United.

The 24-year-old joins after a successful three- year stint with the Blades, for who she made 57 Women’s Championship appearances, including 21 during the 2023/24 campaign.

Predominantly a left-sided defender who can also stand in at centre-back, Newsham was a popular figure at Bramall Lane, winning the club’s 2022/23 Player of the Year award, making her an excellent addition to Karen Hills’ squad.

The defender, who is equally confident when asked to defend and contribute going forward, also arrives at The Valley with leadership experience, having captained the Blades on occasions last season Newsham, who spent time at both Manchester City and Manchester United in her youth, has also represented Scotland at youth international level, including making three appearances at the 2019 edition of the Women’s U19 European Championship.
