Tom Pell was appointed as the club’s Academy Manager in May 2022 and took the reins from former Academy Director and Charlton legend Steve Avory in October 2024.

Prior to joining Charlton, Pell worked at Cambridge United for 16 years, enjoying a number of roles within the club's coaching and football operations departments. In his final four years with the U's, he was the club’s Academy Manager.

After Avory stepped down from his duties as Academy Director, Pell retained his title although his responsibilities have increased significantly as he now leads the Addicks' academy.
