Born in Sydney, Bouzanis moved to Liverpool at the age of 16 and featured for the Reds’ U18s and reserve side while also enjoying a loan stint with hometown club Sydney FC.
His senior debut came in the 2009/10 campaign during a loan spell at League Two side Accrington Stanley, where he impressed to earn a permanent move to Oldham Athletic. Bouzanis went on to make 51 appearances for the then-League One outfit.
Following spells with Greek side Aris FC, Carlisle United and Western Sydney Wanderers, the stopper established himself as Melbourne City’s number one and earned a clean sheet as the side beat Sydney FC in the 2016 FFA Cup final to lift the club’s first-ever trophy.
A season-long loan with Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle followed, before Bouzanis returned to England in August 2020 to join Sutton United.
The former Greece and Australia youth international kept 18 clean sheets during his debut season to help the U’s earn promotion to the EFL for the first time in the club’s 123-year-history.
Bouzanis featured 53 times during the following campaign as Sutton missed out on a play-off spot by just one point and finished as runners-up in the Papa Johns Trophy.
