What We Do

CACT has delivered the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s universal youth provision, Young Greenwich, since April 2012. Young Greenwich is where you can have fun, meet new friends, learn new skills and fulfil your potential if you’re 10 to 19 years old or up to 25 if you have special education needs and disabilities.

Hubs

Delivery occurs across four main youth hubs:

Valley Central (Charlton)

Avery Hill (Eltham)

Hawksmoor (Thamesmead)

Woolwich Common

Further satellite venues, parks and open spaces are also utilised to ensure coverage across the Royal Borough.

Inclusion

Young Greenwich offers a variety of activities and courses for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) up to the age of 25. These include:

The Short Breaks programme for 13 to 25-year-olds with disabilities

Integrated Youth Clubs, bringing all ages, abilities and needs together

CACT has also recently implemented a virtual youth service, connecting its social media pages, and a new Young Greenwich website, to ensure all communication with young people is covered, raising awareness of the provision and increasing footfall.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The service also delivers nationally recognised programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE). DofE helps participants gain an accreditation which is highly respected by universities and employers alike.
