Heidi King, Executive Director of Marketing and External Relations at the University of Greenwich, said: “We are delighted to partner with Charlton Athletic to provide a new safe and welcoming space for fans. This is a brilliant opportunity for students and younger supporters to come together and enjoy the game.

“We are committed to creating opportunity for inclusivity and supporting Charlton to ensure that everyone feels welcome at The Valley.”

Charlton CEO Charlie Methven added: “We are looking at every detail around our matchday experience to make The Valley more appealing to a younger audience. A key focus for us as a board is creating a sustainable football club and therefore it is vital to attract the fans of the future.

"Our new 16-20 zone will allow us to create an area that our young supporters can make their own. We are therefore very pleased to be working with University of Greenwich, Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust and Charlton Athletic Community Trust on this ground-breaking project.”
