MATCH REPORT: Charlton 2 Nottingham Forest 1

Princess shooting

Charlton secured another win in pre-season, winning 2-1 against Women's National League North side Nottingham Forest.

The Addicks started the game very strong, scoring their first goal five minutes in with Hutton making a strong run up the wing and delivering a great cross into the box. Amidst a scramble, Mel strikes from the centre circle, finding the top corner and giving Charlton the lead early on.

Forest's first chance comes from former Addick, Johnson in a counter attack but the shot goes wide.

After a continued spell of passing and possession from Charlton the team win a corner.

The corner reaches Skeels who puts it in the path of Ademiluyi which the forward then slots in the bottom corner making the score 2-0.

Shortly after Ademiluyi is taking off injured with a head injury, the team went down to 10 players for a prolonged period of time.

In this time, Forest pulled one back when Johnson crossed the ball into the box and Hutton's clearance went into her own goal.

The second half consisted of mixed possession between the two teams with both sides having spells of attack.

As the half went on Charlton claimed back more possession with the introduction of subs including Bashford making a difference.

The Addicks continued to have chances from Brazil and Siber with Forest also having chances at the other end of the pitch.

In the final 10 minutes of the game, Forest took advantage of some space on the right and found the back of the next but the goal was ruled out for offside.
