Charlton Athletic are pleased to confirm that Danny Hylton has extended his Player-Coach contract with the club.

Since joining Charlton as a Player-Coach in September 2024, Hylton has featured eight times and scored in the Addicks’ 5-0 triumph at Northampton Town. The 35-year-old has been training with the Addicks since the expiry of his initial contract in January.

Manager Nathan Jones said: "Danny has had a really positive impact on the environment here and has also played an important role in supporting the development of our young strikers. He’s at the start of his coaching career and already his experience has been invaluable, so I’m pleased he’s signed a new contract with us."

Hylton added: "There's some unbelievable young talent here throughout the squad. The work that they do within the academy is amazing because there's some top, top youngsters, especially in the forward areas as well. My role is not to tell them what to do or how to play because they are their own person and player with their own styles, but it's just about giving them little pointers and using my experiences and what I've been through to help them.

"I really enjoy doing it and they are amazing people as well. They want to learn, they are hungry and they want to push through the leagues with Charlton and be successful with Charlton. I'm sure that they are going to go on and have wonderful careers."
