Captain Greg Docherty has called for Charlton to demonstrate their resolve by bouncing back at Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.
The Addicks travel to the Toughsheet Community Stadium on the back of a 4-2 defeat against Rotherham United last weekend, which ended the side's six-game unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One.
"We need to show a different side of ourselves," explained Docherty. "It's all well and good taking praise, but you also have to take the criticism that comes with it. This group has shown that before.
"The fans' backing is incredible, and that hurts," he added. "They are putting in the miles and their hard-earned money. On Tuesday we owe them one, and we owe ourselves one too. That [performance] wasn't like us, but we need to go and show we can bounce back and prove we've got some mentality about us."
