Rarmani Edmonds-Green netted his first goal for the Addicks as his second-half strike levelled the scoring as Nathan Jones’ side secured a 1-1 draw against Stockport County.

The defender replaced Kayne Ramsay who was withdrawn due to injury in the 37th minute and the versatile defender made a vital impact as he drew the Addicks level from close range.

“I’m buzzing to be fair,” claimed Edmonds-Green. “That was my first goal for the club. I didn’t know what to do after I scored, I probably should have grabbed the ball.

“It’s unfortunate with what happened to Kayne. I’ve been waiting for my opportunity. In this formation, I can play in three of the positions. I have been biding my time, waiting for my chance and today I got it, hopefully I have taken it. We need to build on from today’s performance.”

Edmonds-Green emphasised the importance of burying the game early on, admitting that the chances are being created, but the squad must be more ruthless in front of goal.

He said: “We had so many chances today. If we take them, it’s obviously a different game. Some of them were decision making, maybe just squaring it to your mate and then we can score. The main thing is that we are creating the chances, we need to start killing off teams.

“We’ve been working on set plays at the training ground, maybe me scoring wasn’t part of the plan, but we got the goal!”

The Addicks return to The Valley on Saturday, October 26th when they host Wrexham with the highest attendance of the season to date already confirmed for the game. Don't miss out, click here to purchase your ticket.
