Nathan Jones wants to see his side maintain the winning momentum when they take on Cambridge United in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday night.
The Addicks travel to the Cledara Abbey Stadium for their southern Group C opener following a 1-0 triumph at Shrewsbury Town last weekend.
Looking ahead to Tuesday's test, Jones said: "It's an opportunity for us to win another football game. First and foremost, we will pick a team to win a football game. We want to breed that - we don't want to take anything lightly and we don't want to do anything that upsets the rhythm and the quality of the work that we're doing.
"But what we have is a squad that's itching to play and we've got people like Matty Godden, Allan Campbell and Karoy Anderson that needs minutes," he added. "There will be some changes, but it all revolves around us wanting to win the football game."
