Nathan Jones is relishing Saturday’s clash at The Valley against fellow promotion-chasers Huddersfield Town.
The Addicks, who have won their last seven home games on the spin, face a Terriers team that ran out 5-1 victors against Crawley Town last time out.
"They’ve just changed manager and they had a real bounce in the first game. We know exactly what we’re going to come up against, but we like to concentrate on us and what we do well.
"The fans have been outstanding and they’ve got right behind us," he said. "We’ve got real buy-in and what I want to do is give them a performance that they can be proud of. We have to make sure that we bounce back and the fans have a big part to play in that.
"This is the stage of the season where we wanted to be in and around it, and we are. This time last year we were in and around the wrong end and now we’re in and around the right end.
"Any challenge that comes, we’ll embrace that," added Jones. "We’re very grateful for the position that we’re in, and we’ve had to work really hard over a six, seven, eight-month period - probably longer."
The gaffer provided the latest on the fitness of Miles Leaburn, Josh Edwards and Daniel Kanu.
"It’s not a matter of days with Miles, it’s a week’s one. He won’t be available for the weekend, which gives someone else an opportunity. We’ve got to manage Miles slightly different to other players because he’s young and he’s obviously had an injury before. We just want to be really careful with him and we won’t rush it.
"Well Josh is a lot closer than he was a week ago. He’s had some training and then we’ll assess and see how he is.
"Daniel just rolled his ankle so, again, we can’t rush it. We’ve just got to take our time and make sure that we handle him very well. Daniel won’t be out for as long as he was last time."
