Nathan Jones praised his side’s character in the Addicks’ 2-1 win at Bolton Wanderers.

Lloyd Jones and Karoy Anderson found the net as Charlton came from behind to secure a fourth win in seven games.

Speaking to CharltonTV he said: “It is the second time we've beaten them this season, I'm really proud of them after the weekend because I can't defend the performance from the weekend because that was sub-standard, that was below what we expect from, from our players. Today they gave me everything.

“I'm really, really pleased, really proud of the performance because they've shown a lot of character. Thanks to the club as well, who backed us and gave us a little bit of time away so we could regroup and go again. I'm really proud of the team tonight. Bolton is such a hard place to come – there's no hiding places.

“We showed massive character because it would have been easy to go under, after the weekend, and these are a very good side, as I said, they've been together for a long time.

"After going a goal down, it showed massive character, the game changers that came on showed real impetus and once we changed shape a little bit, matched them up in in terms of the midfield, then I thought we were the better team. Any win on the road is fantastic in this league, and that was a fantastic win.”

The Charlton Manager reserved special praise for the club’s supporters.

He added: “I said the club had been brilliant in backing us and allowing us to stay up here, so that's really, really helped and special mention for the fans to come up here again after the weekend. It would be so easy for them to go ‘We're going to watch that again’ but I think we've repaid that and they'll be going down the M6, the M1, the M25, the A2, in far better spirits.”
