MATCH PREVIEW | Stevenage v Charlton

'

The Addicks are back on the road this Saturday, travelling to the Lamex Stadium to face Stevenage (KO 3pm BST).

Nathan Jones’ side will be targeting a return to winning ways having suffered a 2-1 defeat against Steve Bruce’s Blackpool at The Valley last weekend.

TEAM NEWS

“Miles is a lot closer in comparison to where he was before," said Jones when asked about Miles Leaburn in his pre-match press conference. "We have to manage his minutes well. It was a serious injury, albeit a muscular one, so he has to by psychologically ready, and we have to get enough football into him so he can tolerate the physicality of League One football."

Goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond (hand) has recently returned to training, though the hosts will be without Charlie Goode (leg), Dan Sweeney (knee), Jake Forster-Caskey (knee) and Aaron Pressley (ankle).

THE OPPOSITION

Stevenage currently sit 15th in the Sky Bet League One rankings having started the season with two wins, two draws and three losses.

Alex Revell’s Boro come into the clash on the back of a goalless draw against Wigan Athletic at The Brick Community Stadium in midweek.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Stevenage have gone toe-to-toe on six previous occasions with the Addicks winning three, Boro one and the remaining two contests resulting in draws.

The sides shared a goalless draw at The Valley during their last meeting in April 2024.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Scott Tallis will oversee proceedings this weekend.

He will be assisted by Jonathon Block and Callum Gough, while Daniel Middleton has been appointed as the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be donning their yellow away kit in Hertfordshire on Saturday.
