It wasn’t Charlton Athletic’s day as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in the Women’s League Cup.
Charlton started strongly, attacking from the first whistle and creating an opportunity at goal within the first two minutes. However, as the half progressed, Palace found their rhythm, linking up passes effectively and scoring their first goal in the 11th minute through Weerden.
The Eagles doubled their lead in the 24th minute when Mille Gejl found the bottom corner of the net with a composed finish.
The Addicks fought hard in the second half, managing to keep a clean sheet for the final 45 minutes, but they couldn’t find a way back into the game.
This result leaves Charlton in 4th place in Group E, with their final game scheduled for December 11th, away at Aston Villa.
