Defender Elisha N’Dow reflects on Charlton’s impressive run of form ahead of the Addicks’ Barclays Women's Championship clash against Sheffield United this Sunday.
Karen Hills’ side head into this weekend's matchup having recorded three wins on the bounce with impressive victories in the league over Durham and Crystal Palace, as well as a win against Bristol City in the Continental Cup:
“It’s great, going to Durham away is a tough place to go. To go there and get three points even, we were happy with the performance. To go to Crystal Palace away and pick up another three points, and a win over Bristol City at home in the cup it is good to keep that momentum going."
"Our result against them last time didn’t go how we wanted, but it showed that we have made improvements over the last few weeks to go and get the win regardless of it being in the cup or the league."
The Addicks are currently the second-highest goalscorers in the league with several goals coming from all areas of the pitch this season, most recently a brace from Kiera Skeels in Charlton’s 2-1 triumph over Bristol City last weekend. N'Dow also added her name to the scoresheet in a five-goal thriller with a 92nd-minute winner against Sunderland back in September:
“To be fair I still don’t really know much about it. It’s always a long-running joke about me not being able to use my head in attacking situations, a nice ball in from Roey [Beth Roe] and it landed onto my head nicely. I didn’t have much to do with it as it just went into the back of the net, it’s good that not even just the forwards are scoring. Skeelsy [Kiera Skeels] being the second top goalscorer at the moment is quality, everyone is contributing."
Ahead of Sunday’s battle against the Blades, N'Dow is hoping to build on the past three victories against a solid Sheffield United side. The visitors currently sit 10th in the table, following defeat at home to London City two weeks ago:
“Sheffield United are a brilliant side, they have been in the league a number of years now. As a team, we will take each game as it comes, go into the games wanting to get the three points and build on our performances. We have had great results over the last three games and we want to improve on that as a team."
