Charlton Athletic are delighted to confirm that academy graduate Tyreece Campbell has penned a new contract with the club.
The 20-year-old winger, who joined the Addicks at U9 level, has signed a two-year deal, with a club option of an additional year.
Campbell featured 40 times during the 2023/24 campaign, scoring four goals and providing six assists.
“I’m very pleased,” said Campbell. “I’ve enjoyed working under Nathan Jones. He demands a lot from us as players and he knows how to get the best out of us. I’ve been able to learn a lot.
“I’m really looking forward to next season already. The whole team is positive - we all have the same goal and hopefully we can achieve it.”
Manager Nathan Jones commented: “I’m delighted Tyreece has signed a new contract with the club. He’s a terrific young player with pace, skill and fantastic one-v-one ability.
“He’s been at the club a number of years, coming through the academy, and did well as one of our game changers towards the end of the season. I’m pleased I’ll be able to continue working with him and continuing to watch and support his development, as he has plenty of potential.”
Technical Director Andy Scott added: “We’re really pleased that Tyreece has signed a new contract with the club. He’s come through our academy and already played a lot of games for his age at men’s first-team level. He has real potential with his physical and technical attributes, and we’re looking forward to watching his development.
“We have a fantastic academy at Charlton and in Nathan we've appointed a Manager who is excellent at developing young players. During the past season, we’ve been able to sign Karoy Anderson, Daniel Kanu, Nathan Asiimwe, Micah Mbick, Ibrahim Fullah and now Tyreece to new contracts, who will all benefit from working with Nathan.
“We have a focus this summer on adding quality to the squad and to be able to supplement those additions with our talented young players is exciting.”
After progressing through the club’s esteemed academy, Campbell signed his first professional deal in the summer of 2021 and went on to make his senior debut against Oxford United during the 2021/22 season.
The wideman’s first senior goal came in January 2023 in a 2-0 victory over Barnsley at The Valley and he has since gone on to make 71 appearances for the club.
