U18 REPORT | Cardiff City 1 Charlton 3

'

Charlton’s U18s came from behind to earn a 3-1 victory at Cardiff City on Wednesday afternoon.

Patrick Casey bagged a brace either side of Henry Rylah’s long-range strike as the young Addicks returned to winning ways.

Tanatswa Nyakuhwa gave Cardiff an early advantage in Leckwith, racing through on goal and slotting past the advancing Ahmed Kone.

Casey drew Charlton level just nine minutes later with a sensational 25-yard strike that flew into the top-right corner.

Rylah soon gave Jason Pearce’s side the lead, intercepting a loose pass and driving forward before firing an unstoppable drive past Joe Thomas from range.

Casey added the young Addicks’ third on the stroke of half-time, picking the pocket off a Bluebirds defender and finding the roof of the net with aplomb.

Pearce’s side are next in action on Saturday, February 25th when they visit Ipswich Town (11am KO).
