Charlton’s U21s get their season under way on Tuesday afternoon, when they take on Wigan Athletic at Sparrows Lane (KO 1pm BST).
Chris Lock’s side won the London Senior Cup last season for the second year in a row, and have recently returned from their pre-season training camp in Jamaica, where they played two friendlies against Mount Pleasant's first-team as part of the club's partnership with the Jamaica Premier League champions.
Wigan’s U21s side finished ninth out of 11 teams in the Professional Development League Two - North last season, with seven wins, five draws and 18 losses from 30 games.
Of those five draws, one came against the young Addicks when a late goal from Harry McHugh salvaged a point for the Latics in August 2023.
Due to the men's first-team's Carabao Cup tie against Birmingham City also taking place on Tuesday, the club will be unable to stream this U21s clash. However, supporters can follow live updates of the game via @CharltonAcademy on X, and read a full match report on the club website following the fixture. Details on attending U21s games can be found here.
