U21 REPORT | Charlton 6 Hull City 0

'

Charlton’s U21s continued their excellent start to the season on Tuesday afternoon, beating Hull City U21s 6-0 at The Valley.

It was a whirlwind opening to the game, with the young Addicks finding themselves 3-0 up after just 16 minutes.

The first came through Ryan Huke, who bagged his fourth goal in three games through a well-worked corner routine. With everyone expecting an aerial cross, Harvey Kedwell rolled the ball in for Huke to fire home at the near post.

The second came just over a minute later, Nathan Asiimwe getting to the byline and pulling across for Micah Mbick, who controlled and shot on the turn from six yards out to claim his first of the season.

The pick of the goals came in the 16th minute. After Kai Enslin had been fouled by Harry Vaughan on the edge of the box, Toby Bower sent a wonderful curling free kick into Callum Yam’s top-right corner.

Chris Lock’s side picked up where they left off in the second half, making it four in the 55th minute when Henry Rylah pounced on a loose touch from Stan Ashbee and showed off his pace by racing into the area and coolly slotting beyond Yam.

Substitute Seydil Toure got in on the act in the 74th minute. After an attempt to clear Bower’s free kick hit Trialist C, Toure was on hand with an acrobatic finish high into the net to make it five.

The young Addicks were not quite finished, however, completing the rout in the 81st minute. Kedwell picked the pocket of Vaughan, and after the ball fell kindly for Trialist B, he raced 30 yards into the area and rolled the ball past Yam.

It was an impressive showing from the U21s, who have now scored 14 goals in their opening three games. Next up for Chris Lock’s side is a trip to Turf Moor to play Burnley U21s on Sunday.
