Henry Rylah and Tolu Ladapo found the net as Charlton’s U21s won away at a strong Sheffield Wednesday side in very hot conditions at Hillsborough.
The young Addicks’ best chance of the opening half saw Rylah speed down the right wing and cross to the back post where Ladapo wasn’t able to direct his effort on target.
After some smart saves from Henry Molyneux, Chris Lock’s side took the lead with 12 minutes to go. Ladapo’s ball found Bower and his square ball was finished at the back post by Rylah.
Charlton scored a second in stoppage time with Ladapo racing clear with a cool finish.
