Update on end-of-season dinner

Following yesterday’s Charlton Athletic Board meeting, the Board has decided Charlton’s end-of-season dinner will be rescheduled as part of a club-wide focus on finishing the season as strongly as possible.

In lieu of the traditional event, the Board has decided to find a date in the early summer to hold a fan and player event, given the unified desire of the club to maintain complete focus on the matters at hand for both the men’s and women’s first-teams.

The dinner has traditionally taken place at a convenient date towards the end of season. With a jam-packed and important fixture schedule remaining, men’s first-team Manager Nathan Jones said: "I mentioned after our game on Tuesday that we have asked the players to make sacrifices, to prioritise their rest and recovery, to give ourselves the best opportunity to continue our positive momentum.

"We are grateful for the support from our fans and look forward to celebrating the 2024/25 season with them. In the meantime, I am asking our fans to continue to get all their energy behind the team throughout an important eight to 10 weeks we have ahead of us."

The event will take place during pre-season, while the club will work to ensure that the annual player awards, traditionally distributed at the end-of-season dinner, are presented to players ahead of the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
