Charlton’s Football For A Fiver ticket promotion will be back at The Valley when the Addicks host fellow promotion chasers Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, February 24th (3pm) and tickets are now on sale.
‘Football For A Fiver’ has been a regular event in SE7 since 2011 and the encounter against the Shrews will also see the club celebrate its annual Academy and Valley Gold Days.
Seven academy graduates - Anfernee Dijksteel, George Lapslie, Taylor Maloney, Reeco Hackett-Fairchild, Jamie Mascoll, Jo Cummings and Matt Carter – have all made senior debuts this season and Chris Solly, who has now surpassed 250 games for the club, dons the captain’s armband.
Valley Gold, which plays a huge part in Charlton’s academy and also supports many other areas of the cub, enables fans to help the club unearth talented footballers through the academy.
The organisation launched in 1989, with its original aim being to aid the club’s return to The Valley. When this was achieved in December 1992, its focus switched to helping the academy to thrive. To find out more about Valley Gold, please click here
As outlined in our 2017/18 Events Calendar, all league matchdays at The Valley have been dedicated to different areas of the club or the Charlton Athletic Community Trust.
Red, White & Black Day and Upbeats Day are among those still to come, whilst Community Day and our Back at The Valley celebrations have already taken place.
